What is ruling on trimming nails and hair if I want to perform the sacrificial slaughter of Eid (Qurbani/Udhiyah)?

Hanafi
“ Whoever has a sacrifice that they shall slaughter and the new moon of Dhul Hijjah appears, then they shall not remove anything from their hair or nails until they slaughter.”
(Muslim [1977])“The hadith is taken to mean recommendation and not obligation by consensus… negating obligation does negate recommendation; therefore, it is recommended unless it necessitates an increase of the time of permissibility of delaying. The end limit of it is less than forty days, so more than this is not permitted.“
